Yesterday afternoon, the Barceló Foundation inaugurated a new photographic exhibition entitled “Africanas”, at its headquarters on Carrer Sant Jaume, 4 in Palma.
The exhibition consists of a total of 41 photographs presented as women, mainly from Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Chad (countries where the Barceló Foundation has cooperation projects), with their strength, resistance and solidarity make possible the impossible at the time of leading the change in the entire African continent.
On the 7th and 8th, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., you will also have a market place in the Foundation’s courtyard, with handicrafts from Africa and the sale for all those who wish to collaborate with their projects. The benefits will be entirely allocated to the women who made them.
The act was attended by the director of the Balear de la Dona Institute, Rosa Cursach; the president and vice president of the Barceló Foundation, Mª Antònia Barceló and Antonia Barceló respectively; The general director of the same, Rafael Torra, and the curator of the exhibition, Amelia Fornés.
The exhibition can be enjoyed, free of charge, until June 1, 2019. The visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 17:00 to 19:30 and on Saturdays from 11:00. at 1:00 p.m.
