When the Foundation was created, its central aim being to contribute to the development of the whole person and their quality of life, physically, spiritually, professionally and intellectually. And so it was thought that one of the things the Foundation also needs to include would be the promotion, dissemination and appreciation of the Fine Arts.
The Foundation is therefore focused on recalling the paintings of artists from Mallorca, or those who have taken up residency on the island, since the nineteenth and early twentieth century. And not only the most prominent but also include those artists whose work had been forgotten for various reasons, or because they were little known. This has been the Foundation’s mission since 1991.
The Barceló Foundation has a wide and valuable collection of paintings, which include works by Joan Bauzá, Antoni Ribas Oliver, R. Anckermann, Santiago Rusiñol, H. Anglada Camarasa, Francisco Maura, Francisco Bernareggi, Pilar Montaner, Sebastià Junyer, Tito Cittadini, J. A. Fuster Valiente, P. Roch Minué, Lluís Graner, W.
