Capella Mallorquina will offer its traditional Easter Concert with a special program in which it will perform Fauré’s Requiem and other gems of sacred music. The new recital, sponsored by the Barceló Foundation, is scheduled for March 31, at 7 pm in the Basilica of Sant Miquel in Palma.
Under the direction of José María Moreno, the recital will feature the performance of soloist Cristina Van Roy and Bartomeu Manresa as organist. Due to limited seating capacity, Capella Mallorquina recommends its audience to book their tickets calling to: 630 90 90 53.
One more time, this Capella Mallorquina concert will be a charity concert: the benefits derived from the charity ticket will go to the Alisol project, through which the Barceló Foundation distributes fresh food every week to organizations that work with people and families in a vulnerable situations.
The Capella Mallorquina was founded in 1966 by B. Julià and since 1999 is directed by José María Moreno. With the sponsorship of the Barceló Foundation it develops a wide variety of performances that consolidate it as a musical reference, with recognized national and international prestige.
Its staff ranges between 60 and 100 members and its musical activity includes concerts of sacred music, with a diversity of styles and musical periods, in which it has the collaboration of important conductors, soloists and orchestras, both national and international.
It should be noted that the Capella Mallorquina Choir has performed in the main capitals of the world and throughout its career has been recognized with awards as important as the Diploma of Honor of the City of Palma, the City of Palma Awards, the Silver Medal of Tourism Development, the Medal of the Circle of Fine Arts or the Silver Siurell, among others.
