On August 23rd, at 21:00 hours, Barceló Foundation will inaugurate the painting exhibition “Portocolom” by the Majorcan artist Daniel Codorniu, on the occasion of the fourteenth edition of Felanitx Art Night.
Born in Palma of Majorca in 1943, started his studies in the School of Art and Crafts of Palma, later he moved to Barcelona to the Higher School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi and finished as a teacher of technical drawing at INB.
He has been exhibiting his work in individual and collective exhibitions in Majorca, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rome or Los Angeles for more than 50 years. This long trajectory is demonstrated with various awards he has obtained since 1965 as the first prize in the Sidi Ifni Painting Contest or the prestigious French Paul Roubadud Prize.
“Portocolom” is presented as a tribute to this area of the Majorcan coast, through its landscapes and marines, where Codorniu stays true to his own style.
The exhibition can be visited from 23 august to 29 september 2019, completely free, in the Centre of Art and Culture of Barceló Foundation in Felanitx (Bisbe Puig Street, 1).
