Today, Wednesday 22 September, CaixaBank, Autos Vidal, Maria Antonia Barceló and Álvaro Pacheco, have donated a refrigerated van to the Barceló Foundation, so that it can improve the delivery of the “Solidarity Food” program, better known as the Alisol Project.
The event, which took place at 11:15 am at the Autos Vidal facilities in Sta. Maria del Camí, was attended by Mari Cruz Robles (Balearic Territorial Director) and Diego Riera (Head of Balearic Territorial Social Action of Caixabank), Esther Vidal (Sales Manager) and MK Autovidal Group, Francisca Barceló, Antonio Monjo and Bernat Bauzá (respectively President, Managing Director and Director of Agricultural and Environmental projects of the Barceló Foundation).
From the Barceló Foundation we want to express our gratitude for this important support for the Alisol Project, an initiative that was born 8 years ago with the purpose of attending to the deficiencies in the diet of people and families in need, through the distribution of fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, tubers, meat and fish.
Currently, food donations from companies, in addition to the company’s own production at the Son Barceló estate in Felanitx, are distributed weekly among 18 organizations in Mallorca, which directly serve the final beneficiaries.
Alisol also helps more than 3.600 people, sometimes reaching a weekly distribution of 9.000 kg.
The donation of this van will optimize the delivery, thus increasing the transport capacity on each trip, and ensure that the food reaches its recipients in very good condition in order to maintain a well-balanced diet.
