The Garau Distribution Group, a leading company in the food, professional cleaning and equipment market in the Balearic Islands, has signed an agreement with the Barceló Foundation through which it will supply food and cleaning products to the Alisol solidarity food delivery project.
An agreement that was signed by Jaime Juan de Sentmenat, director of the Garau Distribution Group, and Antonio Monjo, managing director of the Barceló Foundation. Both were accompanied by Toni Lluís Campomar, from the company’s Key Accounts department, and by Bernat Bauzá, head of the Alisol project.
Thus, from now on, the warehouse of the Barceló Foundation in Mercapalma will receive periodic deliveries of the material from the Garau Distribution Group for its subsequent distribution among the 14 beneficiaries of the Alisol project.
“In recent months we have witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of users of the entities we work with. There are many families affected by the economic crisis resulting from the pandemic to which they have had no choice but to ask for help and thanks to the agreement we have just signed with the Garau Group we will be able to offer them a wider and more varied basket, in which we will also be able to provide cleaning products,” said Bernat Bauzá, head of the Alisol project.
In the same way, Antonio Monjo wanted to emphasize the social commitment of the distributor towards people who are going through especially vulnerable moments.
“From the Barceló Foundation we would like to thank the Garau Distribution Group for their collaboration with us and the Alisol project. In these difficult times we are living, it is essential to establish alliances like the one we have signed today in order to contribute to alleviate the needs of the most disadvantaged sectors of our society”, insisted the director of the Barceló Foundation.
It should be remembered that the delivery Project “Alisol Solidarity Foods” is an initiative of the Barceló Foundation launched in 2013 with the aim of providing food aid to people in Majorca who are in a situation of vulnerability, through social entities on the island.
The Alisol project currently delivers food to 14 social entities in Majorca: Patronato Obrero, Montision Solidaria Foundation, Orden Mercedaria, Es Refugi, La Viña, Little Sisters of the poor, Siloé Association, Ebenezer Maranata Association, Tardor Foundation, La Salle, Cáritas Llucmajor, Cáritas Campos, Sisters of Felanitx and Cáritas Cala d’Or.
