Since last Friday, the Barceló Illetas Albatros Hotel has been hosting a small exhibition of paintings by the artist José Luis Godoy, a disciple of the renowned painter Guillermo Gil, who is exhibiting a selection of 11 landscape works in the hotel, most of which depict corners of Mallorca.
Both the hotel and the artist will donate a percentage of the sales price to the Barceló Foundation’s projects, which it carries out in Mallorca as well as in Africa and Latin America.
In the words of his teacher G. Gil: “José Luis Godoy, is like me, a lover of Mallorca. We have been painting together for years in my studio, we work and contrast ideas. We have walked a lot through the Tramuntana mountain range, from Andratx to Cape Formentor, observing the colours and transparencies. All this provokes in the painter a feeling that makes him live in his painting. In this exhibition you can see the captivating beauty that Godoy has captured, seeking to provoke great sensations, pieces that once again reveal to us the way of feeling and growing art”.
From the Foundation we would like to give our most sincere thanks to both, Godoy and Jaime Cañellas, the Hotel Director, for their collaboration in our projects.
