2020.10.09 //

The delivery Project “Alisol Solidarity Foods” has received in recent weeks, an extraordinary donation of food, bedding and bathroom equipment from various Barceló Group Hotels in Majorca. This material is being distributed among the 14 beneficiaries of this project and will complement the donations of fresh fruit and vegetables that are made every Thursday in Mercapalma.

“From Fundación Barceló we are very grateful to all the hotels that have joined the Alisol project with their donations. Now more than ever it is important that we double our efforts and help social entities, which are doing an extraordinary job so that people in a vulnerability situation can have their basic needs covered”, emphasizes María Antonia Barceló, president of the Barceló Foundation.

Thus, this week the staff and volunteers of the foundation have begun with the distribution of the material, which has already been delivered to the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Montision Solidaria Foundation, among other entities.

“For us the help we receive from the Barceló Foundation through the Alisol project is fundamental. During the State of Alarm it was very important for us to receive an extraordinary donation of fresh products from the Son Barceló farm, with which we could guarantee a healthier diet for the families. And now, this donation of bed and bath clothes will help us to improve the baskets that we are giving to our beneficiaries, besides contributing to achieve our goal of providing comprehensive assistance to the people we serve”, explains Blai Vidal, president of Montision Solidaria Foundation, an entity that in recent months has significantly increased its number of beneficiaries, reaching more than 2.000 families and more than 6.500 people, more than 1.500 of them under 10 years.
