The Barceló Foundation has been recognized with the CaixaBank Private Banking Solidarity Award, in the category of “best trajectory”. This award coincides with the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the activity of the Majorcan entity and that the president María Antonia Barceló has received from the hands of María Cruz Rivera, territorial director of CaixaBank in the Balearic Islands.
“Many thanks to CaixaBank Private Banking for this recognition. For us it is a great satisfaction to have reached the final along with two entities of the category of the Maria Raventós Foundation and the Gil & Gayarre Foundation, which we also want to congratulate for their excellent work.”, explains María Antonia Barceló, who wanted to dedicate this award to the founders, patrons, volunteers, beneficiaries, as well as the entire team working at the Barceló Foundation.
In addition to receiving a sculpture by G. Onieva, the award consists of an economic endowment of 5.000 euros, which Barceló Foundation will allocate to international cooperation projects and the project of solidarity food distribution “Alisol”, which currently benefits 14 social entities of Majorca that serve families in vulnerable situations.
“Our Foundation has a long history of social and humanitarian action in the poorest countries of the world, where it focuses most of its projects. But we do not want to forget the difficult situation that many people are living in our closest environment, here in Majorca,” says the President of the Barceló Foundation.
The ceremony for the CaixaBank Private Banking 2020 Solidarity Award for the best career, was attended by Gabriel Barceló Oliver, co-founder of the Barceló Foundation; Antonio Monjo, managing director of Barceló Foundation; and Cecilia Santos, commercial director of CaixaBank Private Banking in the Balearic Islands.
