Last Thursday 13th of February, the Majorcan choir, sponsored by our Foundation, once again exceeded all expectations by filling the church of Santa Catalina Thomàs.
For this occasion, the choir prepared a very attractive programme which included popular Spanish pieces such as “Con el Vito” or “O voso Galo comadre” and Balearic pieces such as “La Balanguera” and “Cant a Formentera“. In addition, African compositions from Guinea and Kenya were also heard, such as “Siyahamba” and “Toura Wimove“, and very especially American works, among which “Sehandoah” or “Falling in love with you” stood out. At the end of each of the performances, the audience gave them a standing ovation.
Once again, the Capella Mallorquina’s performance was a great success in terms of attendance and they had to offer a final encore of Engelhart’s famous “Ave Maria“, with the participation of the veteran soprano Catalina Borrás due to the great ovation of the audience.
