The Barceló Foundation publishes the Annual Activity Report 2019

Last year the Foundation carried out 139 humanitarian aid projects in 24 different countries with an investment of 2.739.941 € and 334.749 beneficiaries.

These are the figures of the 2019 Annual Activity Report recently published by the Majorcan entity, which also concludes that the countries where most of the solidarity actions were carried out were Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya respectively, with the African continent prevailing over the American one.

A 32% of the 139 actions carried out were developed in the health area, followed by educational activities (22%) and social projects in Majorca (24%), economic rates very similar to previous year’s ones.

One of the mots important projects was the construction of a Technical High School in Kyabé (Chad), for primary, secondary and vocational education that will be finished in 2022 and benefit 300 students, and undoubtedly will improve educational taxes of the country.

Also highlights the expansion of the FARMASOL project, the construction of 6 water wells in Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, in addition to projects in Majorca (Alisol, Agrosol and Social Projects) through which we continue helping those most in need.

The report also concludes that this 2020 will be a especially significant year for the Foundation as it’s going to be 30 years since its creation and uninterrupted solidarity action. “We work every day with the firm purpose of contributing to the wellfare of society in those countries that are most vulnerable and to improving people’s quality of life,” says Maria Antonia Barceló, president of the organization.
