Barceló Foundation and ASPACE commemorates the International Day of People with disabilities

2019.12.03 //

The partnership agreement with ASPACE (the Balearic Cerebral Paralysis Association) it is just one of the projects that show our Foundation’s commitment to the disabled.

For the third consecutive year, Barceló Foundation has subsidized the “ASPACE RESPIRA” program which consists in the organizing and scheduling leisure activities and leisure time for children and young and adult people with cerebral palsy during non-schooling periods (Easter, Summer and Christmas) in those they can’t be cared for their families, either for reasons of rest, illness or for family, personal or work life reconciliation.

Thanks to our support, various activities have been organized (encompassed within the world of sport and culture) to improve the quality of life for users such as the Summer campus and the Christmas campus, the ludoclub, the visit to “Natura Park” or “Western Park”, swimming and multi-sensory showers, slogan with wheelchair or horseriding paraescue, as well as to finance the staff responsible for planning and supervising such activities.

In this way, family members in charge of ASPACE users can also reduce the load and stress level and enjoy a break.

This is one of the 34 projects that we decided to finance in the Second Call for aid to social entities of Majorca, launched in 2018, focused on leisure and sport adapted to the disabled.

In a few months, we will know what associations has been selected in this new call launched for 2020.
