In their recently visit to the socio-educational center NAUM, the King and Queen of Spain thanked the organizators, sponsors and workers for their support to more than 800 young people in risk of social exclusion of Son Roca’s district, in Palma.
On tuesday 11 th, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia accompanied by their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Doña Sofía, discovered first-hand the work that the NAUM Sisters of Charity os Saint Vicente de Paul Association developed; a non profit organization that works since 2000 to assist minors in difficult and/or social conflict situation of vulnerability.
Accompanied by the main authorities of the Ministry of Education, the Balearic Islands Government, the Mallorca’s Council and the Palma City Hall, their Majesties made a brief tour along the center and talked with some of the young people who carry out the training and recreational activities.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the Barceló Foundation gives a subsidy to the “programme to accompaniment to the social and labor insertion of young people at risk and/or social exclusion and their families” carried out by NAUM in Son Roca, giving them 10.000 euros per year, and with a total of 105 beneficiaries.
