The Honduran Collaboration and Effort Association, with which we have carried out several educational and health projects in Tegucigalpa, has received three awards in recognition of its charity work.
In the first place, they have awarded him the King of Spain Human Rights Award of the Ombudsman, for his work in the defense and promotion of human rights, and democratic values.
Secondly, it has been awarded with the Honor Plate of the Order of Isabel la Católica, for its contribution to the cooperation of the Spanish National with the rest of the International Community.
And finally, DKV has given him the Solidarity Medical Award in recognition of his innovative and highly social impact project entitled “Healthy Schools”, which are held in Colonia Nueva Capital, one of the most marginal areas of Tegucigalpa.
The Honduran NGO develops educational, assistance, health, construction and productivity projects for disadvantaged people at risk of social exclusion and serves more than 70.000 people throughout the Central American country. Thanks to his performance, 11.000 young people can receive education and access the University.
Together we have developed the construction of 3 classrooms at the Santa Teresa de Asís School so that 207 young people in extreme poverty could study in the high school (2017) and the incorporation of a dentist, as well as their practical material, to the clinic of the same school to guarantee the oral health of more than 1.200 disadvantaged children, between 5 and 7 years old.
From the Barceló Foundation we want to send our most sincere congratulations for all the work done and the successes harvested.
